The Great Granola Discovery
What have I been missing out on?! Why haven't I tried this before? Granola Has It All!
Granola has all the makings for a complete perfect breakfast! Carbs, proteins, healthy fats! Plus fruit, calcium and tons of vitamins and minerals. I am so pumped because there are tons of options here to customize it, make it more healthy and make it kid friendly.
I just pulled this from the oven. mmmmmm.....Warm, chewy and super easy! I hope it lasts until the kids get up!
Easy Granola Recipe
3/4 c. brown sugar
1/3 c. vegetable oil
1/3 c. honey
5 c. oatmeal
1/2 c. raisins (add after cooking)
1/2 c. dry milk
3/4 tsp cinnamon
handful of almonds
*any other fun optional items
Mix brown sugar, oil and honey in saucepan. Heat until sugar is dissolved. Combine dry ingredients into large cake pan. Pour sugar mixture over dry mixture and mix well. Bake @375 for 10 minutes. Let cool in pan.
*nuts, flax seed, wheat germ, coconut, dates, cranberries, etc.
