Have you Qwirkled?

We have a new favorite game at our house; Qwirkle! It was a Christmas present from my parents and it has become a little addicting. Match up columns and rows (kind of like scrabble and dominoes), but you use shapes and colors. Hundreds of variation and combinations can be made and it is perfect for varying ages. It actually does get a little bit competitive and Dave and I have even played a few times after the kids have gone to bed or when we have friends over.

That is the best kind of game to have; fun for the kids yet a little thought provoking and challenging for the kids.

Chutes and Ladders, Hi Ho Cheerio and Candyland actually kind of drive me a little batty and I inwardly groan when that is the chosen game. Sure those games are wonderful for learning how to take turns and count, but it is so much nicer to have a "meatier" game at our house. It is so much fun seeing the different combinations that the girls come up with. One of Max's top 5 words right now is Qweeeerkllllllll and he loves to chant it over and over.
